After an accident you can choose to have us drop off a rental car at the scene, or schedule a swap at an agreed upon time and place. When repairs are finished, we’ll bring the car back from the shop.

Need to file a claim?
The online claims process is fast, simple, and convenient. We'll walk you through to ensure every step along the way is captured, and you can make updates to the information you give us at any time. Then you can easily manage your claim and track its progress in your online account after you've filed.
We can meet you at home, your office, or most other locations within our service area. Please ask the Safeco representative to check other locations if the one offered is not convenient.
Please have your keys, driver’s license, and credit card ready. Leave the registration in the vehicle and remove any personal belongings, such as car seats and electronic garage door openers.
Roughly 5 to 15 minutes.
The time to repair a vehicle varies depending upon many factors. Usually the shop will complete a damage appraisal within 24 hours. The appraisal will provide a timeframe on when your vehicle should be ready for return. If you wish, the shop will communicate a status update at that time. If your deductible applies, you should make payment as soon as possible so that your valet driver can promptly return your vehicle upon completion of repairs. The body shop will not release a vehicle to Safeco, or to you, before receiving payment. As a result, the valet driver will not be able return your vehicle until the body shop receives your deductible payment.

Safeco only partners with the highest performing body shops for the Claims Valet™ and we guarantee the accident-related repairs for as long as you own the vehicle. If you are not satisfied with the repairs, the valet driver will return your vehicle to the body shop and you can stay in the rental vehicle while the shop addresses your concern. The shop can provide photos of the repair before the car return.
