About the program
+How does the program work?-How does the program work? How does the program work?
RightTrack is a program that puts you in control of your auto policy savings. We'll notice the safe choices you're making on the road and reward you with savings of up to $513.1 per year on your auto insurance premium for completing the Safeco RightTrack Program. After you enroll, simply download the app, drive for 90 days and save!

Once you enroll in RightTrack, you will immediately receive an initial discount on your auto policy. Drivers on your policy will download the Safeco RightTrack app and register. Then, all you have to do is drive as you normally would for 90 days. At the end of the program, we will determine your final RightTrack discount and apply it to your policy.

Some companies will penalize you with higher premium rates based on your driving behaviors. Also, the RightTrack review period only lasts 90 days whereas other companies require their customers to continue sharing their driving data indefinitely to keep their discount.

Yes. You can opt out at any time during the 90-day review period by contacting your local independent agent. Your insurance coverage will continue, but your initial discount with be removed from your policy and your premium will be adjusted to reflect this change.

+What determines which smiley face I see?-What determines which smiley face I see? What determines which smiley face I see?
Variations in the smiley faces are determined by your driving performance. On the app dashboard, you'll see smileys noting how you are performing in the categories of braking and accelerating. On the trip log and trip details screens, you'll see smileys noting your overall trip performance based on the driving behavior recorded for that individual trip.
+How does the app know that I’m the driver of a trip?-How does the app know that I’m the driver of a trip? How does the app know that I’m the driver of a trip?
All trips captured will display in the app regardless of whether you are the passenger or driver. The app determines whether you are a passenger or driver, and in a car or some other type of vehicle, via technology (similar to what is used by apps like Google Maps or Fitness Trackers) built into your smartphone. The program is designed to learn your driving patterns and should capture all trips accurately. However, you may want to review your recent trips periodically to confirm that your role (as driver or passenger) was captured correctly.
+Why is it important to monitor my trip statuses?-Why is it important to monitor my trip statuses? Why is it important to monitor my trip statuses?
Only trips where you are the driver count towards your savings. The app is very good at detecting when you are the driver in a vehicle, but it's still a good idea to check the app periodically to make sure all trips are correctly categorized.
+How do I change my status on a trip from driver to passenger?-How do I change my status on a trip from driver to passenger? How do I change my status on a trip from driver to passenger?
Navigate to the my trips > unconfirmed tab to view your unconfirmed trip list. If you see a trip that captures your role during that trip inaccurately, tap on the "Driver" status. If you are changing your role from driver to passenger, this will prompt you to select mode of transport. You have 7 days to change trip categorization before it is automatically moved to your confirmed trip list.
+Do I need to open the app every time I get in the car?-Do I need to open the app every time I get in the car?Do I need to open the app every time I get in the car?
No. As long as you have your phone with you, the app is installed, and you have GPS location services on, you'll be all set. The app will run in the background and be able to record your driving behavior.
+What do I do if my RightTrack app isn't working properly?-What do I do if my RightTrack app isn't working properly? What do I do if my RightTrack app isn't working properly?

+Why do I need to have GPS location services turned on?-Why do I need to have GPS location services turned on?Why do I need to have GPS location services turned on?
Your location services must be on while you're driving to properly record trip data.
+My driving trips aren't showing up in my RightTrack app. What could be wrong?-My driving trips aren't showing up in my RightTrack app. What could be wrong? My driving trips aren't showing up in my RightTrack app. What could be wrong?
Trips may take up to 24 hours to appear in the app. If you are still not seeing trips appear, there are a number of possible causes.

Location: This may happen in rural areas.

Trip length: For very short trips (less than a couple of miles), your phone may not capture that trip.

Location services: Be sure GPS location services is on to allow your phone to record and upload trips for scoring. For iPhones, you must set location access for RightTrack to 'Always' in your Settings.

Low Battery: If your phone battery drops below 20%, the app will stop recording trips.

Power save mode: Your phone will not capture trips if it's in power save mode, so you will need to disable this feature.

For iPhone users, go to Settings > Battery > Low Power Mode and toggle off

For Android users, go to Settings. Process varies by phone make and model.

Mobile data: Be sure mobile data is turned on. You can choose to limit data usage by turning on "Upload my trip data via Wi-Fi" under "Settings", but mobile data is still required to capture trips.

If you still experience issues, call the Safeco RightTrack Service Team at 1-844-872-3326.
+I see grey lines used to map my route on some trips. What does this mean?-I see grey lines used to map my route on some trips. What does this mean?I see grey lines used to map my route on some trips. What does this mean?
Because we are not constantly collecting your location data, the app may not immediately detect when you are in motion, causing a delay in trip capture. If this happens, the app will predict where your trip started. This predicted portion of your trip will still be displayed on your trip map in grey, but will not be used to calculate your savings.
+How do I enable location services on my phone?-How do I enable location services on my phone? How do I enable location services on my phone?
iPhone: Enabling location services: Settings > Privacy > Location Services> RightTrack > Location > Always

Android: Enabling location services: Settings > Applications > Application Manager > RightTrack > Permissions >Location
Note: steps may vary based on the specific make and model of your phone.
+Can other drivers on my policy see my trips?-Can other drivers on my policy see my trips? Can other drivers on my policy see my trips?

+I am getting a new phone. How do I continue to participate in RightTrack?-I am getting a new phone. How do I continue to participate in RightTrack?I am getting a new phone. How do I continue to participate in RightTrack?
Simply download the RightTrack app on your new phone from the iTunes App Store or Google play. Once downloaded, re-enter your activation code and date of birth to login and continue using the app.
+What impact does the Safeco RightTrack app have on my phone battery?-What impact does the Safeco RightTrack app have on my phone battery? What impact does the Safeco RightTrack app have on my phone battery?
The amount of battery used depends on the model of your phone. The RightTrack app uses about the same amount of battery as other driving navigation apps. We recommend charging your phone while driving if you're taking a long trip. Trip recording will automatically stop when your phone's battery life drops to 20% and when power save mode is on.
+How much data will the App use?-How much data will the App use?How much data will the App use?
Data usage varies depending on the amount of engagement with the app. For trip capture, the app uploads about 500-600KB of data per hour of driving. If you were to drive 1 hour per day for a month, it would equate to 18MB of data, a small fraction of a typical data plan.

To minimize the amount of data the RightTrack app uses, toggle the "Upload my trip data via wifi" on within the app settings. This will minimize but not eliminate the use of data. Applicable data charges will be the responsibility of the smartphone owner.
