Using a small device that observes your driving habits, we’ll notice the safe choices you’re making on the road and reward you for them. Some specific behaviors observed by RightTrack include braking, acceleration, nighttime driving, and how many miles you drive. You can view trips and monitor your discount through the My RightTrack portal.
Where is RightTrack Plug-in available?
RightTrack Plug-in is only available to New York customers. We also offer a RightTrack mobile app program in different states. Safeco RightTrack is not available in all states.
Is there a cost associated with the device or program?
Participation in the RightTrack program is free.
Can I opt out of the program before completing the review period?
Yes. You can opt out at any time by contacting your Safeco independent agent. Your insurance coverage will not be impacted; however, you will lose your initial discount, and you will not be eligible for any subsequent RightTrack discounts.
How soon do I have to begin the review period after I enroll?
To begin the review period, be sure to plug the device into the enrolled vehicle within 30 days of receiving it. If you have multiple vehicles enrolled in RightTrack, you will receive an enrollment email for each participating vehicle.
Which driving behaviors does RightTrack observe?
The RightTrack discount is based on the following driving behaviors: total miles driven, nighttime driving, braking, and acceleration.
How is my data protected?
Safeco will not sell the data collected through participation in RightTrack. We may use the data as permitted by law, including for purposes of adjusting your auto insurance premium, servicing your policy, providing services related to RightTrack, developing rate or premium information, developing other services and benefits to offer to you or other customers, or for research. Yes. You can opt out at any time during the 90-day review period by contacting Safeco. Your insurance coverage will continue, but your initial discount will be removed from your policy and your premium will be adjusted to reflect this change.
How can I view my driving information and the projected premium discount?
At any time during the 90-day review period, you can review your driving patterns and see your projected premium discount through the MyRightTrack portal. You will also have access to your driving data and final discount result for thirty days after completing the review period. We will provide you with instructions for accessing this website after you plug in the RightTrack device.
Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your latest driving information to appear on the MyRightTrack portal.
Can I transfer the premium discount when I change my vehicle?
Yes. If you change an enrolled vehicle after you complete the review period, we will apply any premium adjustment to the replacement vehicle as long as the replacement vehicle is added to the policy within 60 days of the originally enrolled vehicle's removal. If you need to change your enrolled vehicle during the review period, you may continue the program by enrolling your replacement vehicle.
Will the discount be applicable for the life of my policy?
Yes, your final RightTrack discount will apply to your vehicle, or its replacement, for the life of your policy.
What if I do not drive my vehicle every day?
It's okay if you don't drive your vehicle every day. As long as the RightTrack device is installed in your enrolled vehicle for the full 90-day review period, you will remain eligible.
What if my vehicle is stolen or involved in an accident?
If your vehicle is stolen or involved in an accident, follow all normal procedures for handling such an emergency and then contact a Liberty Mutual claims representative as soon as possible. If you need to replace your vehicle or the RightTrack device, simply contact your local independent agent
How do I know if the device has been installed properly?
After installing the RightTrack device, you should see blinking lights on the device which confirm successful installation. We will also send you an email within 48 hours after your first trip, which will confirm that your device has been activated and will also include information on how to access your driving data online.
What should I do if my RightTrack device is not working?
If you suspect that the RightTrack device is not working, please call Safeco at 1-877-934-5335
Can all vehicles use the device?
Most vehicle model years 1996 and newer are compatible with the RightTrack device and eligible for the program. Your Safeco independent agent can tell you if your vehicle is eligible.
Can I remove the device during the review period?
You may remove the device only if you decide to opt out of the program. If you plan to stay enrolled, the device should remain installed for the entire review period to qualify for the RightTrack discount. To prevent tampering, the device is programmed to detect when it has been disconnected.
Should I remove the device when another driver uses my vehicle?
No. The device should remain plugged in your vehicle throughout the entire review period.
