They raise their rates the minute you have a claim

Communications went ok,,job got done,but had to be forceful on this end,needed to bring in investigators to get my coverage done,shouldn't be put into that situation...been paying a premium all along,don't expect rates to go up day after job is done !!!!!

Worst service ever

Adjusters not responsive, no control of claim process or claim management, assigned independant adjuster was horrible, rude, and inept. had to be replaced. Benefits not clearly articulated.

No contractor network

Simply said, Safeco under estimates the cost of repairs and contrary to the statements they make, they lack any real network of contractor referrals. The company they recommend, Innovation Property Network never called me or the Safeco rep back as promised .When I followed up they told me they had no one in the Austin Texas area available or willing to respond to a Safeco claim.I have called several contractors on my own, they look at the Safeco claim estimate and say they are not interested at that price or dealing with Safeco for a realistic price.So be aware, your completely on your own finding a reliable repair contractor that is willing to deal with Safeco on the actual repair cost.

Extension Denied - New Policy Required

My siblings and I inherited our mother's house, which was a rental for a few years. When she passed away, we sold the house. Her landlord policy expired 6 days before we closed on the sale. Safeco would/could not extend the policy even for a few days. They had to create a new policy under my name as executor of the estate for just the 6 days! They expressed frustration with that as did I. The policy itself was ok.

Tornado Claim

Ryan has been my Claims Representative and I have enjoyed working with him. He always answers my calls, gives me honest information, and seems to care about me and the prompt resolution of my claim. A tornado is difficult to deal with, but Safeco and Ryan have made it bearable. I feel I've been treated fairly through the whole process.

terrible subrogation department service

Because the adjuster did not collect evidence, the subrogation department believes my tenants unproven statements instead of the facts, and subrogation refuses to send out anyone to investigate.

Compassionate Service and Good Advice

I called in reference to our tenants procuring a dog. It's considered a breed of concern and I had sent in a photo and the new owner's description of the animal. My husband and I had an unsettling "meet and greet" with the new dog with the entire family present and I was pleased later to have an official Safeco confirmation of my feelings that the dog needed to be removed from the premises. Your agent very kindly warned me that the tenants would "pull at my heartstrings" regarding removal of the animal. It was just what I needed to steel myself and prepare a professional response to her pleas. Thank you for supporting me in my efforts to be a fair landlord.
