I called Safeco to advise I had replaced the roofs on my 2 investment properties and I was happy to learn my premiums would drop slightly dropped...any decrease in price is better than nothing and sure beats being told premiums increasing! This is the 3rd year in a row I have purchased Landlord polices from Safeco, no other companies could touch Safeco's prices & coverage and I shop annually! SafeCo Representative I spoke with was very friendly, personable and knowledgeable!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from condo landlord the 3rd person I was transferred to promised an adjuster would get to me that afternoon -- the adjuster called next morning and advised he would have to review my claim & would call back that PM or the next day. had to call him one week later for status. promised to mail me a written determination next day -- after 2 weeks am still waiting. lousy

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad, bad, bad Much correspondence from Safeco comes without a description of the subject property - no address or anything, just a policy number. I've been asking FOR YEARS for a property description on EVERY CORRESPONDENCE - an address not just a policy number. I buy and sell several properties each year. It's hard to know what property Safeco is talking about in their letters unless I memorize all my policy numbers. I've gone to the extent of keeping an Excel ledger of all my property addresses and corresponding policy numbers and match letters I receive from Safeco to the list to see what property they are talking about. Other times I call my agent, who never answers the phone so I have to wait for a call back. Sometimes I scan and email to my agent and wait for a response. Too Cumbersome. Too much room for mistake... It is common for me to cancel policies after selling properties. It is common for me to receive cancellation letters WITHOUT A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPERTY, just a policy number. One time I had vandalism. $40,000 in damage. I found out I wasn't insured because of unpaid premium. I receive cancellation letters frequently due to buying and selling frequently. I can only assume that when I received the cancellation letter I thought it referred to a property I had sold. WHY NOT PUT THE PROPERTY DESCRIPTION ON EVERY CORRESPONDENCE??? Safeco cost me $40,000.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very Confusing The first time I called to change my property manager I was transferred 3 times because everyone said he/she didn't handle that and needed to be transferred. When I called back the next day to provide additional information that gentleman took care of all my needs without ever being transferred. Except I get an email saying I owe more than I have already paid. Then I get the same thing in the mail but it said it is not a bill; however, its about $40 more than premium but it says I owe nothing. So I don't know If I owe more or not. Hope my insurance doesn't get cancelled.
