To help prevent innocent people from buying stolen vehicles and to recover the vehicles, the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) offers a free service for anyone to run a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) through their unrecovered Stolen Vehicle Database. To check a vehicle, simply visit the NICB web site and follow on-screen directions for the VINCheck search feature.
