Water Mitigation Services

Water losses are one of the most common type of homeowners claim. If you experience a loss of this nature, it is crucial that you contact us and report the loss immediately. We will walk you through the water mitigation process. It is very important to utilize the services of a professional licensed water extraction company to remove the water from your home. This will help prevent further and/ or hidden damage.

While Safeco Insurance® customers can always use a water mitigation company of their choice, we recommend using one of our Program Vendors. Based on customer surveys, policyholders are more satisfied with the claims process when a Program Vendor is involved as compared with work done by vendors outside of the program. Your claims representative can assist you with determining the best option for you.

Benefits of Choosing a Program Vendor:

  • Quality - They are professionally licensed to perform the dry out of the customer’s home and provide quality service.
  • Efficiency - We have a specialized team (The Water Mitigation Unit) dedicated to coordinating and monitoring the drying process with these vendors so that each claim can be resolved timely and efficiently.
  • Price - Program Vendors have agreed to complete work at pre-negotiated rates.
  • Speed - For the majority of claims our vendors will contact the customer within 1 hour after the claim is reported and will be at the home within 4 hours.

In the event of a loss, contact your local Safeco claims office by calling 1-800-332-3226 and a representative will assist you.
