Commercial Umbrella Insurance
You’ve worked hard to build your business. With umbrella insurance you have an extra layer of protection for your investment.
Are Your Liability Limits High Enough?
Contracts with landlords, vendors, or mortgage companies may require higher limits of insurance. And once the limit of your liability insurance is reached on your primary policy, you could be personally liable for the difference.
Umbrella insurance takes over when a lawsuit exceeds the limit of your other commercial liability insurance coverage, adding a second layer of protection. And it’s relatively inexpensive.
Safeco offers a full line of Umbrella insurance and Excess liability options to protect your company. Combined with Safeco’s excellent claims service, it’s a great insurance value.
Commercial Umbrella Insurance Coverage Highlights
Unlimited Defense Costs
Even if you’re not liable, Safeco may need to defend you in court. Our umbrella insurance covers defense costs in addition to the limit for liability coverage. And there’s no deductible for defense costs for losses covered by your umbrella but not covered by your primary policies.
A Broadened Definition of Who’s Insured
With Safeco, the definition of who’s insured under your umbrella insurance policy includes all officers, employees, directors, and stockholders acting within the scope of their duties for the business, and all additional insured entities included on your underlying policies, such as your landlord or mortgage company. It also includes anyone acting as your real estate manager.
Extended Coverage for Newly Acquired Organizations
If you purchase or form a new entity, Safeco will extend coverage to that entity for the remainder of the policy term. This differs from typical umbrella policies that cover new entities for only 90 days.
Multiple Limits of Liability
In addition to the umbrella insurance policy limit, a separate limit of liability applies to your products and—completed operations, employees’ occupational disease, and each auto accident.
Worldwide Coverage
Safeco’s Umbrella insurance policy provides worldwide coverage which applies to claims made in foreign countries.
Coverage for Mental Injury Allegations
Safeco’s Umbrella policy responds to allegations of bodily injury involving both physical bodily injury and mental injury. Typical umbrella policies may not respond to mental injury allegations.
Additional Excess Casualty Insurance Products
In addition to our comprehensive commercial umbrella, Safeco can protect your business with alternative products. The Ultra Catastrophe Liability Policy is an umbrella specifically designed for smaller businesses. Our Excess Liability Policy is tailored to provide additional limits of liability for specific exposures and specific underlying policies.
Do You Qualify?
