We appreciate your interest in our company and we want you to have a rich experience with our organization while we get to know you. Since genuine dialogue enhances both your candidacy and our company, this overview of our hiring process will let you know what to expect.
How to Apply and What to Expect
1. Search our open positions.
Start by finding a position that’s right for you. Search our open positions by keyword, area of interest, location, or requisition number. When you find a position that interests you, move on to step two.
2. Create a profile and apply for a specific position.
Follow the instructions on the Job Search page to create a profile and apply for a position. After you complete this step, you can return to the Job Search page to search for other positions, check your application status, maintain your profile, and receive new job postings by email.

Once you apply, check your application status using the "Jobs I've Applied to" feature.
- Maintain your profile:
Use the "Edit Profile" feature to keep your resume and contact information up-to-date.
- Receive new openings by email:
Use "myJobAgent" to select criteria related to your career interests and receive matching positions automatically by email.

3. Share your talents in the interview process.
Safeco will review your resumé and, when applicable, your assessment scores. If you're a good potential match for the position, a Safeco Corporate Recruiter will contact you to schedule an initial phone interview. If the position is not a fit, we will notify you. We encourage you to continue to apply for other opportunities that match your skill set. If you are a potential match for the position, we will schedule further interviews.
4. Receive a job offer.
If Safeco identifies you as the best fit for the position, your recruiter will extend a verbal offer. Your recruiter will follow up by emailing you an electronic offer letter.
5. Complete an employment application.
When we extend the offer, we’ll send you an email asking you to complete our online employment application. The information you provide here is very important. Please answer the questions as completely as you can, and at your earliest convenience, so that we may continue the hiring process.
6. Expect a background check.
After you complete your online employment application, we will initiate a background investigation process. This investigation includes a criminal background check and verification of education and previous employment. For driving positions, we will conduct a motor vehicle check.
7. Join the team and begin the on-boarding process.
Once we’ve approved your application and subject to successful completion of the background check, we sign the offer letter electronically. We will then send you a link to our on-boarding tool. Through this tool we will gather important information to ensure you are off to a successful start.
