Safeco's 401(k) Plan
Our 401(k) plan is highly competitive and assists you in saving for your future. You can contribute immediately upon hire and invest your dollars in an array of top-rate investment options. Safeco matches your 401(k) contributions, up to six percent, on a dollar-for-dollar basis. After just one year of service, the company will contribute three percent of your compensation into the 401(k) plan.

Medical Coverage
We know that quality healthcare is very important to our employees. We ensure that our medical plans include Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) choices with open access to a wide network of physicians and hospitals. Employees select plan design details that best meet their coverage needs.
You can customize and personalize Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) medical coverage by selecting your deductible, co-insurance, and co-payment levels. Four tiers of coverage are available: Employee Only, Employee + Child(ren), Employee + Spouse/Partner, and Family. We share the cost of your medical coverage with you. You contribute your portion of the payment through payroll deductions on a pre-tax basis. We also offer HMO coverage at select offices.
Along with Medical Coverage, there are a variety of options for Dental, Vision, Short- and Long-Term Disability, Life, and Accident coverage.
Safeco also offers a wellness and chronic-condition management program that is available to all employees, regardless of whether you choose to participate in a medical plan.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Healthcare and dependent-care flexible spending accounts allow you to save money by lowering your taxable income. Set aside salary on a pre-tax basis to pay for the healthcare and dependent-care expenses you incur during the calendar year.

Paid Time Away From Work
Vacation
When you're hired, you receive a pro-rated share of a two-week vacation grant. Thereafter, we grant vacation annually in January. Starting in your third year of employment, you are granted three weeks. You can purchase additional vacation days each year.
Holidays
Employees have nine paid holidays each year, plus two personal holidays of their choice.
Sick Time
You are eligible for one week of sick leave when you join the company, and two weeks of leave on January 1st of every subsequent year.

Community Involvement
Your Time Plus
When an employee commits 25 hours or more within a calendar year to a charitable organization, Safeco makes a $500 contribution to the organization on the employee's behalf.
Your Gift Plus
When an employee makes a donation of $25 or more to a charitable organization, Safeco matches it dollar for dollar, up to $1,000 per participant, per year.
Employee Giving Campaign
Our Cares Campaign is designed to make giving easy, convenient, and meaningful for each employee. It allows employees to sign up for payroll deductions to support the charities of their choice. Employees can support the organization with a designated amount that we deduct from their paycheck each month. In support of the Giving Campaign, we also offer a companywide Day of Caring with volunteer projects organized across the country. On the Day of Caring, Safeco employees form teams, select their preferred projects, and literally roll up their sleeves to make a difference.
