Safeco Insurance Foundation
Established in 2006, the Safeco Insurance Foundation supports the communities in which we live and work. Our grants attempt to educate low-income children, strengthen cultural treasures, protect our most fragile, and uplift those most often left out or behind. Our grant making priorities are education and broad based health and human services. We also invest in access to health care for low-income individuals, and cultural organizations.
We strive to give nonprofit organizations the flexibility they need. Therefore, the Safeco Insurance Foundation makes grants for operating, program, capital and multiyear support. And our review process is continuous.
Our goal is to invest in leadership that is responsible. To that end, we give preference to nonprofit organizations with these attributes:
- solid financials;
- clearly articulated systems for measuring impact;
- a strong board and staff; and
- thoughtful strategic plans and budgets.
