Vote, cheer in the Safeco Insurance® Make More Happen Contest

Seattle (April 28, 2014) — Starting this spring, Safeco Insurance is spotlighting 30 independent insurance agencies and the nonprofits they support through volunteer service in the Safeco Insurance Make More Happen Contest.
Make More Happen Awards are given to independent Safeco agencies that make more happen in their communities by volunteering for qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations focused on education, health and safety or civic engagement.  The award honors the agency’s volunteer efforts with a $3,000 donation from Safeco Insurance to the nonprofit organization it supports. Each independent insurance agency featured in the current contest was selected for a Make More Happen Award for the 2014 spring cycle.
The public is invited to vote online for their favorite entry in the contest and virtually cheer for those who make a difference in their local communities. When the contest ends May 19, Safeco will donate $10,000 to the nonprofit with the most votes and $5,000 to the runner-up. All charities featured in the contest will receive an additional $500 check from Safeco if the total votes for all entries reaches a goal of 25,000.
“These awards are just one way Safeco recognizes our independent agent partners who are dedicated to making more happen in their local communities by volunteering their time and talents,” said Matthew Nickerson, president, Safeco Insurance. “We are honored to generate more awareness of the good work they do and the nonprofits they support through the Make More Happen contest, and we invite everyone to join the effort.”
