Charities win big in the Safeco Insurance® Make More Happen Awards vote-off
Seattle, Wash. (Aug. 27, 2012) — We asked people across the country to vote for their favorite volunteers in the Safeco Insurance® Make More Happen Awards contest and the results are in!
The top four vote-getters and the charities that will receive a $7,500 donation from Safeco Insurance are:
- BB&T-Oswald Trippe and Company and Harry Chapin Food Bank, Fort Myers, Fla.
- Scarborough Company Insurance, Gainesville, Fla., and Tyler’s Hope for a Dystonia Cure, Alachua, Fla.
- Gates Cole Associates, Hew Hartford, N.Y., and Pathfinder Village, Edmeston, N.Y.
- Chas H. Bilz Agency, Covington, Ky., and Redwood School and Rehabilitation Center, Fort Mitchell, Ky.
Photos of the four winners were showcased in the Safeco Make More Happen Awards event along with 20 other independent insurance agencies who get involved in their communities through volunteering. These 24 finalists had been previously selected for a Safeco Make More Happen Award, and the charities they supported through their volunteer efforts received a $2,000 donation from Safeco.
In addition to the finalists, another 23 agencies were recognized with a Make More Happen Award and a $2,000 check for their charities.
