Safeco Insurance selects Diane Mitchell as regional general manager for California

Seattle, Wash. (Dec. 16, 2011) — Safeco Insurance has selected Diane Mitchell as the company’s new regional general manager for California effective Jan. 2, 2012.

For more than two decades, Mitchell has focused on partnering with Safeco agents to enhance their success in the marketplace.

“Diane has a wealth of experience in the insurance industry,” said John Mileski, senior vice president and manager, Safeco distribution. “With her background in underwriting, claims and customer service, she is uniquely positioned to lead the California Region for Safeco.”

“I look forward to continuing our strong partnerships with California agents,” said Mitchell, who will meet with California agents in the coming months.

During her time at Safeco, Mitchell has held a variety of key roles. Most recently, she led Safeco’s Seattle Underwriting Zone team, where she was responsible for all underwriting operations in support of the Northwest, Mountain and California regions. She also participated on a leadership team tasked with developing and executing regional business plans.

Mitchell holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from Washington State University.
