Safeco® Insurance and its Carolina agents Donate $5,000 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
GREENVILLE, South Carolina – Greenville’s United Insurance Group LLC, Safeco® Insurance and four other local independent agents in North and South Carolina have jointly donated $5,000 in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital which supports complex medical problems for young people throughout the United States and the world.
Safeco’s contribution was presented Monday on behalf of the five Safeco Insurance independent agencies which together nominated St. Jude for a grant through Safeco’s Agent Giving Program.
“Once again, Safeco’s agencies in the Carolinas have shown their commitment to our communities – and especially to the needs of the young and the sick – by donating to such a venerable organization as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® that serves so many families’ needs in the Carolinas,” said Sherri Watson, on United at the event held today in Fayetteville, NC. “We proud to be a part of this grant today.” “St. Jude’s mission is to treat serious childhood illnesses and research cures for cancer and other deadly diseases at no cost to the families, and Safeco’s and United’s generosity is much appreciated,” said Ashley Trotter of St. Jude’s fund-raising office in Charlotte at an event during which Safeco presented its $5,000 grant.
Safeco’s grant reflects how much the company and its agents care about children in our community,” Trotter added in thanking the company and its agents.
“Safeco and our agent partners are proud to provide this grant to St. Jude and help their efforts to provide research and patient care for children with cancer,” said Paul Hollie, Safeco Agent Giving manager.
In addition to United, the four other independent insurance agencies involved in the grant are:

- Brown-Phillips Insurance of Raleigh, NC
- Owens Insurance Agency, Inc. of Greer, SC
The Safeco Agent Giving Program provides grants to nonprofit organizations that primarily support youth and people with disabilities with an emphasis on education and after-school programs, health and safety, and civic and cultural programs.
