Safeco employees in Seattle and our regional offices nationwide believe in the importance of giving back to their local communities and find many ways throughout the year to get involved, contribute and make a difference.
Serve with Liberty
Safeco employees join forces with their colleagues from Liberty Mutual to volunteer their time and service in a global volunteer effort called Serve with Liberty. Safeco encourages employees to select from hundreds of volunteer events happening in their area. Activities have included feeding the hungry, sprucing up public parks, planting gardens and building new homes.
Give with Liberty
Safeco employees across the country take an active role in supporting our communities by contributing to nonprofit organizations during our annual giving campaign—Give with Liberty. In 2012, we joined forces with our Liberty Mutual Insurance colleagues to generously contribute a record $10.4 million to charities across the nation. Including the corporate match, the total amount raised increased from $14.4 million to $15.6 million (8 percent) in a single year.
Community Involvement Committees
The caring spirit of our employees is not limited to just one day—volunteer groups in offices across the nation find ways to stay involved throughout the year. From holding school supply drives benefiting foster children, to handing out toys to needy families during the holidays, we make community involvement a year-round commitment.
Locally Focused Giving
Safeco’s regional offices continually find ways to positively impact the local areas where our employees live and work through charitable giving. These contributions usually focus on local needs and have helped a variety of causes, from restoring trails to making wishes come true for special children.
